I thought you would be smart enough to know that you can never satisfy everyone all of the time. Guess I was wrong. Obviously, you have no experience with Medicare or it's limitations. Still it is a great program when you consider that someone else pays for your stuff if you cannot. Wish someone would do that for me so I can buy a boat, a bigger house, newer cars, etc, etc. Yes, it isn't exactly the same but the principle is.

Did you read the story? Apparently private insurance billing is no fun either.

I've been on Medicare for over 5 years.
But the article isn't about Medicare.

Tell you what. You go find the billing department and ask them which is less fun. I worked next to the billing department. I saw the "write off" reports. My wife works with medicare all the time. Why do you think that I told her that if she ever starts her own private practice and I am involved in any way, shape or form, it will NOT accept medicare?

The wife has been working with medicare for more than 5 years. Many of my personal friends are working with medicare. So yes, I do have some clue as to how difficult the job can be. I happen to know some of the hoops you will have to jump thru to even dream of medicare approval. One of my favorites is they tell you to use the new form come Sep. It is Oct and there is no new form yet but you cannot use the old one.

No kidding. It is about some bad thing happening with private insurance. To which your comment was that you thought everybody was "satisfyed" with their health care. My point was that medicare was even worse so lets not go there. The only ones who benefit from it are the leeches. Much like socialism, if you are middle or better, it doesn't help. Only if you are below.

Not that long ago a bunch of posters to this forum were expressing their satisfaction with their healthcare. Are you claiming they were wrong?

Silly me. I must have forgot that they were the "everyone" you were talking about.

Also, seeing as it was from you, I thought you were railing about how bad our private insurance is and perhaps making a plug for govt payment. Are you saying I was wrong to assume that?

Yes, I should have assumed that when you said "everyone", you meant only those that liked what they had and that it wasn't one of your plugs for govt healthcare because private was bad.

Nevermind that those countries don't have the same issues as we do. Nevermind that they don't have MIPPA to stifle the competition to the govt. Of course when the govt runs everything there is no out of network issues. Why not have the govt run everything in the country, much like the good old USSR and we will have paradise.

Edit: Nevermind we have govt that borrows money to avoid having to make unpopular cuts in a bad economy. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2009-09-27-states-borrowing-more-money_N.htm Maybe next week, we can let the ex drug users guard the pharmacy.

The evils of private healthcare can all be summed up into one term: Pre-existing conditions.

Since when is it ok to deny someone medical care because it would cost money to help them? Its like glorified, organized, accepted, CRIME!

No system of health provisions should be aimed at making profit at the expense of the population they are "serving". What a terrible system.

Nobody is denying you healthcare. They just think it is an unacceptable risk for the pool of clients they have. Would you want to share risks with someone who is a problem? If you have a DUI, they have companies that do high risk insurance. Why? Because many other companies don't want to touch you because it raises the cost for the pool and makes them unattractive. How many people in your pool, you included, would be willing to have a few cancer survivors or alcoholics or druggies in it that would raise the rates? I know I wouldn't.

Like every system, including Congress, if you think they are there to serve you and not themselves, you need to put down the pipe. Everyone is there to serve themselves and if you get served too, so be it. Get used to it.
