20 million a year for....

Manny Ramirez?....you have got to be kidding me! I said it when LA got him from Boston, and I am in total disbelieve now. 20 million a year with a 5 million dollar signing bonus and this clown was in the shower while his team lost last night. Tonight.. I never even saw him during the 90% of the broadcast I watched.

WTF!, I will consider myself fortunate when I hit 25 Million in lifetime earning, much less a year. I show up and work my behind off 5 days a weeks, and this slacker shows when he wants and plays when he wants, never considering himself part of the team, rather he is, in his eyes. the team.

The Phillies played a great game and earned the win, while the Dodgers tried (A little help and support from the almighty Manny might have helped, but we will never know for sure since he wasn't/didn't) but couldn't pull it off.

I guess in the the long run, Boston may have "scrod" (generic whitefish), but LA got screwed!

PS. 25 million and can't get a hair cut?

No response in 10 minutes, I don't think any one really cares

and it's a little off topic..... but I know what I'd do with 25 million, I'd give everyone on the planet a hair cut!

Spoken like a true Canadian, I lived in Northern Ontario for most of my formative years, I, like you vote for haircuts.

I posted in the wrong forum due to my angst around this whole Manny thing.

Oh, that's a lotta money....wait, is it "just" Canadian dollars?

Sorry, couldn't resist....

Just remember a million won't buy what it used to.

If I never hear anyone say, "That's Manny being Manny", again, it will be too soon. On the other hand, people who know him tend to say nice things about him.

I don't understand why the media types think he's so funny. He doesn't seem to have any real wit or humor like other oddballs from baseball's past - the late Mark Fidrych or Spaceman Bill Lee, for example.

The Red Sox didn't miss a beat when he quit on them last year, but he was the main cog in their machine for a few years. When he was out of the lineup, the Sox suffered. He was a highly productive player, but I think his time has come.

I'm glad we won't have to hear people say, "Manny being "Manny", during the World Series.
