It is so simple. Reps and Dems don't care one way or the other about this issue or that. It all boils down to 1 simple thing. WIIFM. Reps care about gays gettng married because the church cares. The church sponsors them and therefore, if they refuse to "care", money might stop flowing. Dems care about the gay marriage issue because the groups that cares, sponsor them and if they stopped caring, that money might soon dry up. It is that simple.
