5 series manual OR 300E manual?

I am seriously looking for a manual transmission RWD sedan. I know W124 manuals are hard to find but it's not impossible... I know of two for sale currently.

The BMW's are easier to find. I have my eye on the E34 body from 89-96. I have had a couple BMW's and have liked them.

So which one? Has anyone driven both?

Thanks

PS.. not interested in American cars.

I think 5 series manuals, mainly the 540I and M5 are pretty freaken sweet. I'd buy one of those over a 300E any day of the week.

I drove a 500 series with a manual transmission a few years back. I'd guess it was a early to mid 90s model. Six cylinder. Beautiful car. Much more fun than a Benz. No idea how they are for reliability.
