Dentists like cash because they pocket it and don't run it through the business. Plus insurance company's are hard to collect from.

yea let the goverment fix health care
The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.

The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.

Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new source: the American taxpayer."Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.

So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

Thank God he had insurance or he would be stuck paying on a $90k hospital bill for the rest of his life.

Selective listing, no?

Did the postal service stop sending a carrier to your house lately?
Are the retired not getting the checks?
Are military vets not getting their healthcare through the VA?
Are the elderly not getting care through the state's Medicare/Medicaid?

I guess your concept of "fail" is different, particularly when you don't discuss what the effect on our nation would have been if none of those programs or initiatives never existed.

The Postal Service seems to do a pretty good job. Email is killing them, but thats hardly the governments fault.

helpplease 10-26-2009 03:13 PM

Actually I find the postal service to be a very good carrier for all types of mail and packages. They are at least as fast as UPS or FedEx and sometimes in my expericence faster....

The idea that a "government run" enterprise is going to have the same operational objective as a private commercial organization is discussing apples and kumquats.

1 - did you happen to see the dollar amount ( shortfall ) the post office has at the moment its costing a lot more than 42 cents for a letter to get to you - granted no postal worker has started stooting in a while, but its when and not if , great job no other bussiness has as many employee shooting other employee in the USA BTW

2 - well if you were one of the lucky that had a vested 401 K in the stock market than what do you think the answer is

3 - MY guess you are not a veteran who is in need of the services, that they still offer as a disabled vet i wont go into it but you have much to learn if you think that goverment health care system is doing its job we already have BTW

4 - everyone who gets a SS check was cut ( cost of living increase check for 2009 ) was eliminated by the O team - may not look liike much to you but to some it may come to how much can you eat this week - some actualy live on the money and its all they have and that cut will hurt

401 K should never been used in the first place to secure your pension. It was a dumb idea from the start. And are not others to blame then the government for the collapse of the stock market?

For a system where the only financial contributor is the government it self they do a pretty good. There is a reason the government pays the medical bills for vets (besides a moral duty), no commercial insurance company will touch such a large group with preconditions.
