1068 mile voyage

I just yesterday finished the trip in the boat from NY to FL. Stops in OC, MD., Norfolk, VA., Beaufort, NC., Charleston, SC., and St Augustine, FL., ending up in Lake Worth Inlet and Palm Beach Shores. Lost the autopilot and had a tech "fix" it by replacing it- that was the extent of issues. Knock on wood.
My artificial heart valve and health is iffy and I'm headed to the Cleveland Clinic in Weston FL today perhaps for an extended stay.

Sorry to hear your health is giving you problems. :( Good luck with everything, thoughts and prayers will be with you!

My father has made that trip a couple times (he has his Capt. license and delivers friends' and referrals' boats as a hobby more than anything else). One of these times I'm going to tag along as crew.

Glad the trip went well, William.

I'm hoping that heart valve will finally be corrected for the long haul...........I wish you the best at the clinic.

William, I am officially pissed at you. Had I known you were in town, I would have come to visit.

On another note, I hope your stay is quick, and you're back under the hood in no time at all. Thoughts and prayers are with you buddy.

There is a Cleveland Clinic in Florida ? A friend of mine has a bad heart valve and is headed to the Cleveland Clinic in,,, you guessed it,,, Cleveland. They are supposed to have a new procedure that doesn't require ripping your chest apart to do the repair. Sounds like a plan. Hope your issues are minor.

Mitral valves are recently being done through the femoral artery. Not sure about the others.

My lil brother had a Mitral Valve repair 4 years ago through a 3" incision; much faster recovery than getting cut stem to stern. Was home in 2 days. Youth helped.

My valve is a St. Jude's device- an artificial valve. I sure hope when they replace it they do not have to saw my breastbone apart again. I visited my regular cardiologist today and we still do not know what my problem(s) are. I nearly never visit anything other than the marina and/or a restaurant when I'm traveling. I'm dead tired and want to eat then sleep. My crew can and does party sometimes, but not me. Thanks for the thoughts about my health.
