This is me, I just joined a few days ago.

G-Benz 01-23-2002 12:58 PM

Man!

Slacker, I want a bike of my own really badly, but I have been on my wife's perpetual "list" ever since I got my daughter a bike of her own...:(

Welcome to MercedesShop!

Someone should start a thread about who owns motorcycles...we know about watches, shoes, musical instruments...and boats!:)

Cap'n Carageous 01-23-2002 01:36 PM

Hey Slacker!! Not counting you and the motorwheel, that's a nice looking picture:D :D Welcome to the forum!

Jim Anderson 01-23-2002 02:54 PM

I've got a bike. I had one before I got married but she didn't want me to get another one. I had one change she said no to but I got to close and bought one anyway, she got over it. Its mostly used as backup transportation and as that has paid for itself ($300 for an alternator! I can find one cheaper in a couple of days, etc.)

Standard transmission Mercedes are easer to find than automatic motorcycles:D

dtanesq 01-23-2002 06:16 PM

Anybody who really wants to see a picture of me can go to www.nossaman.com and do a search under "People" for "Tan."

I have a little less hair than in the picture which accompanies the resume, but the charming smile is still the same.

But I bet I could whip your ass along a wet British back road in a £1500 Peugeot 205.. you take your pic.. M5, C43 etc

What a gorgeous animal!

I've always wanted a German Shepherd (would name him/her Polo)...daughter wants a pet dog too, but with all of us out of the house 12 hours a day, the poor thing would be really lonely!!!:(

In nearly 2000 posts, I have rarely attacked anyone personally. But, this is just too much.

The level of arrogance is shocking. You would think these girls earned every penny their parents have. Jessica is NOT buying a CL500. Jessica's Daddy or Mommy is.

And you girls just slapped 'dem new body parts on? Rent a body shop? Any MB car in a collision needs to go on a rack. These are not 1950's vintage body-on-frame cars. You don't just slap a new fender on, unless of course, you don't give a rat's-ass what the car drives like.

And again with the "best driver on the road" stuff. Oh, yeah. I'd put my money on pentoman in a £1500 Peugeot 205.

I think I'll keep the link handy to remind myself of how being stuck in the middle class is the best thing for my own daughter.

And since I'm flaming, anyone can now feel free to start the typical "you're just jealous" insults that rich-spoiled-brats typically hurl.

Hey, in Seattle, at the University of Washington, parking is quite expensive on campus (and in many off-campus apartments as well). Thus, many of us (me included, although I have this old Mercedes sedan that sits back at the parents' house) have bus passes, which work quite well. But here are the cars that we have...

1995 Honda Accord LX: my girlfriend
1988 Saab 900 16V Turbo: one friend
1996 Nissan Sentra: another friend
1995 Toyota Tercel: another friend
2001 Lexus IS 300: he's a statistical anomaly
1989 Toyota 4-Runner V6 4wd: another friend, great for going to summer concerts..

And the parents of the Lexus driver are Microsofters who cashed out of some of their stock in the late '90s. Like I said, statistical anomalies.

Even up on Greek Row, the fraternity and sorority types tend to drive Honda Civics, 4+ year old Ford Explorers, 4-Runners, Camrys, the occasional old Bimmer, etc. I haven't seen anyone truly driving a "supercar" who is a student....unless you count a turboed Prelude with a body kit as a supercar.

I guess some Cornell students must be financially more advantaged than us West Coasters...

lol lol lol lol lol an inspired performace, but he's right of course, everyone should earn their pleasures...
Still I do wonder - Did this girl REALLY created this web page just for us MShop forum members (we get a special mention), or is someone messing us about?

It reminds me of a story I read about a guy in a (very busy) forum who created a female alter-ego, and pretended to flirt with her (i.e. with himself).. over the course of months they flourished, and all the forum members were into it. Then they arranged to meet.

Later, he posted saying they had arranged to meet but she got hit by a truck or something on the way there and died... Everyone was in mourning, and there was a forum thread of 100's of posts long, offering condolences, sympathy, what about her kids (he'd said she had 2) etc. 'till he came clean and said he'd just made her up.

Same deal here?

later,

Russ

Maybe its rsbiomedical creating another virtual member?

elau 01-29-2002 05:35 PM

Guys,
So the girls bragged about their CL, Porche, SL and M3. How many of you actually see any of them driving those cars. I can get on a message board and claim my other car is '02 CL600. They probably claim what they wish to drive. I can hardly believe one of the girls actually drive a Porsche TT. Thats a car a beast to handle for a well seasoned driver, let alone someone as young as she is. Porsche did not design a driving class for the TT owners for no reason. Get real.

I have really gotten a kick out of this thread, but I do have to add a "dose" of reality in:cool:

I've "heard" that North Atlanta is second only to Beverly Hills in Mercedes-Benz per capita. No proof, etc.

But, these Cornell girls ain't got nothing on the HIGH SCHOOL KIDS in Alpharetta (especially the H.S. near Crabapple!!).

It's like a freakin' "Hi-Line" Showroom there. The parents flex their "financial" muscles with the super big house (25,000 sq.ft. on 20 acres - riding stables too), nice cars, etc. I've seen the KIDS with nicer cars than DAD. Example: Dad drives a new CL600.....17 year old drivers an ASTON MARTIN....got a Lady President Rolex for her 15th Birthday...Nuts!

Back in the late 80's at the Univ. of Colorado (my little sis went there), there were 5-6 year old ROLLS ROYCES parked in front of some frat houses!

DuckMuck 01-29-2002 08:11 PM

Benzgrl says her boyfriend is RJSL...RJSL is still actively posting on this forum...why don't you guys ask him if she is real?

Hi-Power 01-30-2002 12:21 AM

She is 100% real

Yes the girl is real and I am her # 1 fan...

Come on guys, who do you think did the body repair for her ? It was me !!! I will do anything to get her attention. She promised me that I could drive her car after finishing the job.

LOL

This little princess is the kind of person that could spend hundreds of dollars a week in a manicure... Could you imagine her doing the body work on that car with her beautiful hands ?

Anyway, keep postings your pictures ! It's always nice to know how do we look like ! :D

mbz380se 01-30-2002 12:38 AM

Hey, RJSL, if this person is indeed your girlfriend, would you mind filling us in if you are reading this thread? I know you're out there.....

-Sam

Kuan 01-30-2002 11:54 AM

You know what I think? I think we should have a virtual benzgrl on Mercedesshop. We could create one... let's see, dark brown eyes, circle star earrings, R129 tattoo on her butt :) Give her a neutral look like the girl on Final Fantasy. Also we could create a section called "Ask Benzgrl: advice on women and Benzes," kinda like dear Abby. :)

How about a real person as a Benzgirl?¿ Sort of like a mascot. My vote goes for Brooke Burke of "Wild On" on "E" TV. :) :)

Kuan 01-30-2002 12:37 PM

Sure, I'd vote for Brooke Burke for Mercedesshop mascot! Someone with more poise and professional demeanor than I please email her and ask her. Maybe she even drives a Mercedes! :)
