The Honeymoon's Way Over

President's Approval Numbers Below 50%

Gallup said 49 percent of Americans approved of Obama's job performance. A survey by Quinnipiac University on Wednesday had a similar finding, putting him at 48 percent support.

It was the first time he had fallen below majority support in those two polls. He had been polling in the low 50s for months after taking office in January with an approval rating just under 70 percent.

Interpretation folks?

A lot of first time voters helped put him in. Unreasonably high expectations by many of them may contribute. Other folks never voted for him anyway so they can be negative too.

He has a huge load on his plate which he is making yeoman's efforts at solving.

His approval rates early were so high there was noplace to go but down, and finally...

Approval rates are not the same as election results. Have an election with a real candidate running against him tomorrow and I say he will win again handily.

Approval ratings are for a real working pres against some vague ideal of what might be in people's minds.

Obama money isn't enough to keep him afloat in the polls any more.

Interpretation folks?
49% approval
44% disapproval
7% undecided
Margin of error +/- 4%

Statistically, 53% of poll participants with an opinion approve of the job he's doing. About the same margin of victory as in the elections.

Interpretation is the majority of Americans approve of the job he's doing.

Ronald Reagan's approval rating in January 1983 was 41%, also in the depths of a major recession.

Not even close. Utter crap. Bush was the epitome of clueless. The proof is there for all to see. Because people had the sense to see this, Obama is now fair game for all manner of sliming?

Rr rhetoric towards BHO has been far worse, and began immediately. Rachel Maddow had a bit tonight stringing together all the times Beck, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and Savage have gone on about the American public being "raped" by Obama.

That one's not up yet but this one is pretty good, on the same topic from a few days ago. I wonder if you'll take the 5 minutes to watch it:

Well, that plus term limits....

The state of the economy by the end of his reign pretty much dictated that the R's would lose the 08 election.

People are not always swift to recognize policies that are detremental to their lives... but being broke and out of work tends to focus ones view point.
