The recent cop killer in the NW had been pardoned by Huckabee when he was governor. Apparently he had a very high pardon/clemency rate (three times more than any predecessor) and repeatedly failed to consult and inform victims and their families about this pardons. Anyone know what was going on with him? Seems like an odd practice for a right wing governor.

Right wing gov'nors tend to be odd.
This incident will likely ruin his chances for the next presidential election.

not to excuse what he did Mr Huckabee

BUT 1200 pardons a year he said came across his desk 92% were denied

this guy was 16 when he was given 90 years i think for theft

many levels of officials were involved in his release he commuted him and than the parole board did the rest its the way its done - jz

I'm actually curious as to whether, given Huckabee's background, there is any correlation between a prisoner's claim of religious conversion and Huckabee's pardon. Given the very significant role of religion in prisons, it could be that most appeals for clemency or pardon include claims of religious conversion but I'd be interested in knowing whether for instance, there is a difference between the percentage of pardons given by Huckabee to prisoners claiming Christian versus Muslim conversion. I've read that the recent cop killer claimed a special relationship with Jesus.

I've read the alleged cop killer claimed to be Jesus. Your point is well taken.

i was reading a book on Japan and not unlike what some feel in a leader, he is a God to those who believe or are forced to

being Italian American i spent my childhood being beaten by the nuns in NYC - it seems to me now we both loved it hahhahahahahahah

Only an assertion; not a fact.
Technology has made it easier to kill large numbers of people quickly. Also, its easier to amass numbers due to the population.

There just weren't enough people alive during the time of the Crusades to kill enough people for your statement to be true.
