My uncle had one of these. Because of the 2-stroke engine, you had to open the hood and top off the oil reservoir with every fill up. In one respect, it was a great way to keep people involved with the mechanical stuff in their cars!

Haven't watched the U-tubes yet, but when at idle those engines have a very distinct sound. In fact the young son of our neighbor called my 1957 DKW 3=6 a "corn popper" !! He was right on.
