Yay!!!! Im going to Florida for a week.

Well thank God my work load has became slower now since many things are now out of the way. I just booked my ticket to fly into Tampa,FL on January 29th. Staying untill the 12th of February.. Picking up either the Porsche in Tampa and driving down to Venice to spend some time with family. Staying in Venice for a couple days then driving back up to Longboat key to stay at my cousins beach house. Then driving back down to Venice to a Super Bowl party hosted at my place. Wife booked my ticket today. I hope it is still now cold down there when I go. I herd from some people it was in the 30's. I am very excited to get out of the snow belt for sometime. Its been an awfull winter up here so far.

Yes the Villiages up near Ocala area. Very nice there. The neighbors at my place down there moved up there and they love it. I hear it is a city in itsself. I hope its not cold there. People have told me if you dont leave the house before 8am its fine out.

Just work. Actually, I'm going to Monroe, not Detroit itself. I was actually complaining about the climate more than the area.

Yea... It has been a little chilly. Lows in the mid to upper 20's at night. Today it never got above 46. Add the 25 to 35 MPH winds to that as well.

A friend of mine over in Leesburg sent pictures of accumulating sleet yesterday.

They were saying on the news that this is some kind of record for the longest and coldest cold spell since they started tracking it. So much for all of our tropical landscape. The Papaya's, Banana's, Mango's and Pineapples are all wilted and brown. I think they might have "bit the dust".

It is supposed to get a little better mid week. Lows in the mid 30's and Highs in the mid 50's to lower 60's.

That is just awful. I planted a couple of grapfruit trees down there back in July. I hope the home ownses association doesnt give me hell about it. Wont matter since the cold has killed off alot of crops I belive it to be the coldest ever...........Must be Global Warming or something

You guys may have had it a little better over on the West coast. The "Gulf" is warm. The West or North West wind would have been in your favor if you are close to the water. Your trees might actually be OK.

When we get the West wind and there is any chance of a freeze on the "East coast".... The whole Citrus Community freaks out. They know it will be cold and the only thing they can do is water the hell out of it and harvest early. It is a MESS.... It also includes Strawberries and Tomato's.

I do ambulatory runs (in the MB) Workers Comp. patients. A lot of my shortcuts go through Orange groves in Indian River and Brevard County. So, I am really "in touch" with what is going on out there. Last week was BUSY......

Maybe it'll warm up by then

I almost took a trip to Vegas, but I have this stupid online class and I don't want to have to be in limbo without internet access.

I know a bunch of kids in Los Angeles right now who are just so happy of their warm weather. I'm waiting for rolling blackouts and El Nino again

Your online classes should not be an issue. I have a son who is 21 and in College and since we go to Florida for the summer he was taking a summer class. He brought his laptop with him down there and took the class 1,300 miles away. Ended up with a B+ as well I see where your comming from thoue with limbo internet access......Vegas can be very distracting. I have not been in 3 years and am trying to get out there sometime soon. Also trying to get to California as well to visit family.

I was supposed to go to FL for a work-training seminar next week, but currently it doesn't look like I will get to go for this round. Maybe in Feb.
