The salt of the earth

Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh told us today how much they care about the misfortunes of Haiti.

It's like a bad-taste SNL bit (back when SNL was funny). You have to really wonder if these clown believe this stuff or if it's all just theater for them?

I think he must seriously believe it. If he didn't how could he keep a straight face when stating it?
I used to be a volunteer at CBN back in the 70's. Even if Robertson himself doesn't believe it, there are tons of CBN employees and watchers who do.

Was there anything inaccurate about Rush’s stated opinion? Haiti’s contribution to human race has been what? The loss of potential contributions will affect humanity how? Will billions of more tax dollars poured into the rat hole that is Haiti ever give a return on that investment?

Maybe the last great democrat president Bill Clinton should have changed the US policy of denying Haitian refugees political asylum and should not have increased foreign aid to the corrupt military government in order to keep Haitians in Haiti? Haitians who make it out of Haiti usually do pretty well!

So not jumping on the human suffering cause celeb flavor of the week is bad? How is prolonging the suffering of populations, who for generations can’t feed, house, cloth, or advance themselves do any good? Isn’t this just one more example of liberal do-good-izm-its futility in the face of un-stoppable evolutionary forces?

The Dear Leader does not look at every available circumstance as a political opportunity?

Well then, according to Limbo and you we should just sit back and let nature take it's course in Haiti. You're also the salt of the earth.

More than a little ironic when the same liberal theology which constantly derides religious believers for failing to accept evolution as absolute fact; never seem to want to accept the very same theoretical evolutionary consequences should apply to all the organisms they think should be preserved from their own failures to adapt! People, animals, plants, and ecosystems all have to be preserved in the static state, regardless of the demonstrated inability to adapt and survive the dynamism of adaptation and selection.

Here is my opinion on this. Robertson is an a-hole, Rush is an a-hole. Both are using the extreme to try to prove their points. Read the Bible, think about it. Make your own decision. As a believer in the the Lord, I don't need fanatics to ruin what I know that I believe.

Can't you do something to get these two kicked out of the club, they're making you all look pretty silly.

I find your post utterly lacking in any basic humanity. For once, I pity you.

Your definition of "basic humanity" is nothing more that an idealised fantasy, competition for resources to ensure geneic propagation, is the only real basis for all of life. It's not suprising that as an organism, you would attempt to alter that equation to favor your success.

He's had years of practice making similarly bold statements to receptive audiences within his fold.

I'm not wild on the idea of bringing all the people of Haiti to the US as has been postulated above. Their proclivity for high birth rate would come with them.

A few years back when on a big job, a house remodel, a roach coach (step van food trucks - they often play 'la cucharacha' on their horn so we call them roach coach) had us on their rounds. The fellow running it was pleasant fellow, a Vietnamese immigrant. Was said to have 8 kids and he took ribbing about it from some of the guys good naturedly (hey, put your pants in the freezer!). Wonderful, I guess but I'm not keen on California's population doubling again.
