Mercedes E320 167K miles for $3800? Thoughts?

Is it worth getting a mercedes with this much mileage on it no matter how cheap it is? Any thoughts on price? What threshold would you consider in terms of age and mileage on Mercedes E, C or S class cars?

Unless its been maintained meticulously, with the documentations to back it up, its not worth it.

What year of E320? They made them from 1994-2006? I suppose a W211 (2003-2006) would be a steal at that price.

Why not? the 320 engine is a solid engine, and there if it's been maintained then it'll have many more miles before it dies. There seems to be alot of them on the market right now and with the economy as it is the price is coming down for all of them.

Depends on the year.

My 1997 E320 with M104 engine and 722.6 transmission has been meticulously maintained from day one. I have the records and receipts to prove it. It looks like a 3-year-old car and rides/drives/shifts as new, despite having 181,000 miles on it. I wouldn't sell it for $3800, even if that's what the market price might currently be.

I think you, and many others have a car that is worth more than the $4K, yet there are some nice ones that will sell for $4K as the owners want to move on. I'd buy one in a heart beat if I need a FOURTH car again.
