Driving Jams?

Hey Guys,

I don't know what came over me this morning, but I woke up, turned the computer on, and became possessed; I've been looking up different period accepted music for listening to in the '87 560 SEL.

It got me wondering: Is it weird to keep things that original?

Also, what songs really get you guys in the mood for going on a good drive?

Carlen

I don't listen to very much newer than '87 anyway.

Nothing abby normal about it

Do you have a smartphone? You should consider downloading Pandora if you do. Depending on my mood I either rock out to classical music, maroon 5, lady gaga, or hard rap.

(yes I am that weird )

Start with the "Miami Vice" soundtrack CD

The TV show, not the movie:

1. Original Miami Vice Theme [Instrumental] - Jan Hammer
2. Smuggler's Blues - Glenn Frey
3. Own the Night - Chaka Khan
4. You Belong to the City - Glenn Frey
5. In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins
6. Miami Vice Theme [Instrumental] - Jan Hammer
7. Vice - Grandmaster Melle Mel
8. Better Be Good to Me - Jan Hammer, Tina Turner
9. Flashback [Instrumental] - Jan Hammer
10. Chase [Instrumental] - Jan Hammer
11. Evan [Instrumental] - Jan Hammer

Most of my stuff is older than that too; I was toying with the idea it might give me some 'original' experience. Nostalgia? I dunno.

It's not period-correct, but I highly recommend "Bad Habit" by Offspring. Great driving song.

I generally like Pandora, but much like the radio stations in Connecticut; the channels I love get repetitive after a bit.

If I hear Roadhouse Blues- The Doors while driving one more time, I think I'll go insane

I've never tried classical music before; sort of a joke between me and my dad. When he bought his 740iL, it came with this cassette that tells you how to drive it and such, and it played this ritzy music in the background. Most pretentious sounding people in the cassette too "We are pleased to announce you are now driving the most advanced automobile money can buy."

Otherwise, I jam to The Police and Genesis mostly.

Reminds me so much of last summer; I compiled a CD of a bunch of the stereotypical police car chase music from the 70's. My friends always got a kick out of it when we pretended to be following other people

Rammstein or Metalica usualy gets me pumped when screaming down the highway at less than legal speeds.

I like listening to German music in German cars.

AC/DC will do the trick as well.

Yeah Hells Bells works well.

Now that I think about it, I'm SO glad I had a slow diesel W126...if I had an AMG with some AC/DC going...I'd be in jail.

Metallica- I guess it would have to be early stuff for your 87, no Death Magnetic for you!
Queensryche- Absolutely awesome live, their albums are better for concert memories though.
