No, not even close. They are normally considered to be in the upper portion of middle class; not even close to the top tax bracket in the US. We are talking about mid-career profesionals and small business owners who actually have to work for a living. There is a huge difference between making a comfortable living and having real wealth. Jay Leno and Steve Jobs are rich, they could give away 90% of their wealth and still live very comfotably. The average person with low/mid six figure income might have a nice house and a couple of decent cars, but they still have to plan for paying their kids college tuition and their retirement. Do you think your dentist and family doctor are rich? What about the guy who owns the local fast food resturant or the dry cleaners?
