so i found a low mileage (45000 mi) 04 E55 that I am looking at. I am going to have my MB Mechanic do a thorough inspection on the car, but I was wondering if anyone here can give me any quick tips to look at the would tell me if I should walk away or not. It is about 100 miles away, the owner said he will bring it up to my Mechanic if I put down a substantial deposit and pay for all of his expenses.

My only suggestion is to spank on it as much as you can during the test drive. When the superchargers start overheating they cut themselves off, and the power loss is dramatic. If it starts doing it with spirited driving, then you know there's issues. A friend of mine had this problem with his CL55

Just about everything else I'm sure the mechanic will go through.

I assume he will refund the deposit if the PPI goes sour?
