Deliberate internally. Turn out the noise and static of commercials and other BS and propaganda tha't coming. My common sense comes from within, not from the blatherings of others.
You should be banned for suggesting something so vulgar. Using common sense? WTF?? Next you will want me to be responsible for my own actions. What do you want next? Me to do something for myself? Where will that sort of stupid demands end?

I need to be spoonfed and taken care of from top to bottom. As a crudly translated Vietnamese saying goes. Not only do you need to see that I get married but you need to ensure I bear a son.

You know, I opposed McCain-Feingold since it was first introduced. I disagrred with Sen. McCain's asessment that the money corrupts good people. Money can only corrupt the corruptible. Money may be like a catalyst in that it helps the reaction to get going, but honest people will refuse to be part of that slime.
If the money is making you ( Senator/ Congress Person) corrupt, then I suugest you leave office, and remove yourself from that temptation.
To accept the money, and then whine that it made you corrupt is rather ridiculous.

Why not? With this ruling, why can't they vote? According to Roberts, the corporation's hand picked Chief Justice, they are a person. Of course they can vote.

I'd be looking more for Monsanto to be the new governor of Missouri. Enjoy the water! Seriously, this is the implication of this insane ruling.

OK. What has changed in real life? Money has always been flowing to legislators. So now it can be more open. Can anyone show me real life differences?

Either way, there will be a published list of donors, right? So what is the problem there? You can look up a candidate and see who is paying for him/her and deduce where his/her loyalty lies and vote for the other guy, right?

uh, you assume the populace can "deduce"? (or even read) there's some "deducers" on this very forum who seem to be a few bricks shy...

One thing that could and should be done is that cable companies partition off state political ads so they are only shown to customers in that state. Before the last Virginia elections, all Maryland Comcast customers were treated to a barrage of nonstop negative ads on behalf of Virginia candidates. I don't see what purpose that serves, and its only going to be worse now.

What I am saying is that you still have the same tools to deduce. Now, if you cannot and/or will not deduce a week ago, you cannot and/or will not deduce today. So what has changed from last week to this week as far as that goes?

More importantly, I want to know how this changes anything from last week to this week in practical terms. Lets face it, special interests, whether union, religious, banking, anti pollution, anti abortion, pro choice, etc, etc has been able to somehow wangle money to their representatives in one way or the other. So what has changed? Have we barred special interest up till this watershed decision? If so, I agree that it has changed significantly.

I mean, wasn't there an issue of Hillary Clinton being Sec of State and her husband getting funds from someone outside the country?

...everyplace the constitution addresses voting, it uses the word citizen. I don't believe this court ruling has actually classifed corporations as citizens.

The 14th Amendment doesn't use "citizen", it uses "persons". All persons will be equal before the law. Yes, all of us persons will enjoy the same rights, black, white, Hispanic, male, female, and Insurance Conglomerate, we will all hold hands together in this wonderful country and bask in the Sunlight of Democracy, except gays of course. I wonder, instead of mergers, can IBM and Microsoft simply go down and get a marriage license ? I want them to be equal, like me.
