Anyone know anything about repairing wheels?

Hey guys,

So today I got a set of Pentas in exchange for a set of bundts. Pretty sweet deal right? Well two of the Pentas are out of wack. One has a slightly bent lip, nothing too major, but another has a crack in the lip. It's about an inch and a half long and not really too "deep" for lack of a better word.

Is repairing a small crack like this feasible? It's on the lip only, and no other damage is on the wheel itself sans some curb rash.

crags list in the nyc area and jersey always has wheel guys who do repaires and welding so go take a look and go see the work they do first use someone local - jz

I have had bent alloys repaired (for around $100), a cracked wheel might be more of a problem.

I've used Precision Wheel Service in Branford CT after my wife hammered her VW w/17" rims into a pothole. Cost me $80 cash. The shop came recomended by a friend- he and his dad (from Branford) have used em for years (they are both 'car guys') and I found out that another guy I know sends wheels for his Ferrari there from Washington State.

any machine shop should be able to weld the crack to stop any leaks.

There are mobile repair people that straighten rims. Contact body shops and ask them for a reference... might know someone with the right tools.
