Not very well. You see, they want me to give them excuses for their problems that blame others. I tell them to go to the hardware store an get a rope to hang themselves. Either they find someone that will give them the excuses they want or they hang themselves.

But how would that give them the attention they so desire. That is why people threaten to slash their wrists and do it the wrong way. I told on guy that if he wanted to really do it, sit in a hot bath and do it LENGTHWISE. You don't want the blood to clot. Also take plenty of anti-coagulants. Aspirin will work in a pinch if you cannot find coumadin.

It's pretty easy to just avoid the truely idiotic threads in OD. If the original poster doesn't want to put up with the current noise/signal ratio (which is pretty high) he should just save himself the agrivation and stay out.

I fail to understand how people can assume someone would come to a Mercedes forum with a desire to read about the latest right wing/left wing political crap that is put out there. There are a million other places devoted explicitly for posting your opinion about your politics. There are, however, relatively few places where you can get generally good advice about your car.

I'm done here.
Fully agreed.

Quite often when a person is about to end it, many people don't know and there is not much of a clue. People look back and see very little clue.

OTOH, there is the other kind. Those that show signs of suicide. Most of it is just a "Look at me! I'm cutting myself (sideways. Need enough blood to make it look good but not so much that I really die)". Why does he need to announce it? He could quietly leave and nobody would have to make him justify it. Just give it the "AW" stamp and have a good laugh.

Attention Whore

I've observed similar behavior creeping into OD over the past several months. The OP's have been dominated by those who simply wish to rant about their favorite, or least favorite politician without any desire to have any open discussion. They arrive with few facts and much bravado as if they had inside information as to the operation of the government. Furthermore, when confronted with information that conflicts with their belief, they simply malign the source.

While all political threads can certainly be avoided by those who do not wish to participate, it is clear to me that many folks don't wish to participate due to the rigid stands and intolerance presented by many on the forum.

Therefore, you'll be noticing a change from this point forward:

Those that wish to rant about the government without any desire for discussion will be issued trolling violation. It's against our TOU. If you want to rant, do it to your bathroom mirror.

Those that put up an OP for the sole purpose of attacking the opposition without any desire for discussion will find their threads deleted.

The title of the forum is OPEN DISCUSSION. If you want to rant............GO ELSEWHERE.
