We're going in March for 11 days... looking forward to it - anything in particular I should know about it before going?!

Head south !!
We love the Stann Creek district.
Highly recommend staying at the Coco Plum (If you really want a "get away".)
Get a cabana if it’s just you and the wife.

If you stay on the mainland (not an island/key), Hopkins is nice.
Try the Jaguar Reef Lodge if you’re in that area. Shelby has stayed there a few times and liked it.

And, for sure, what Txjake said.
Not so bad if you stay ocean side. But, if you plan on getting off into the rest of the place…. DEET will be your new best friend.

And take your own mask and fins. You'll be glad you did.

Might want different repellent/lotion for sand flies if hanging out on the beaches too. Nasty lil no-see-um flies. Used to use an Avon lotion to repell those; name escapes me.
