Tea Party's Aren't Cheap
Where's Lipton . . or Snapple?
The organizers, Tea Party Nation, made a splash by scoring big political figures to speak at the convention, to be held at the Opryland Hotel – Sarah Palin is to deliver the keynote speech. But activists have criticized the price tag - $549 a ticket, plus a $9.95 fee, plus hotel and airfare – as out of reach for the average tea partier. They have also protested reports of big speaking fees for Ms. Palin – organizers have not confirmed how much she is being paid, but some reports have put it at $100,000. Talk about your taxation without representation. Tea Party Press Release on Press Credentials Here's the list: Fox News Breitbart.com Townhall.com The Wall Street Journal World Net Daily |

From a "Best of Craigslist" post...
"First of all.....when 28% of you brain dead effing morons give a blithering IDIOT like Sarah Palin positive approval ratings and think she ought to run for president in 2012, it really makes me sick to know I am lumbered with that many mouth-breathing Cro-Magnons I unfortunately have to consider as my fellow countrymen....trust me.....I don't. You ************s are beyond help"
~~~~~ Of COURSE they will exclude the press, put them in another room, like their press release says. The reporter's questions cannot be answered because Palin is too stupid, she needs to be insulated from tough questions by her handlers. Too many gaffes out of her.
More folks watch American Idol in a single season than have watched Masterpiece Theatre probably since its inception . . . so what's your point?
Brown has interesting points in his favor as a moderate; he isn't strictly pro-life, he supported his state's version of healthcare reform, regrets supporting cap & trade now, but did support it before, real estate attorney, JAG Corp/National Guard service, and he has a timeshare in Aruba. Roll in the male modeling and TV news wife, he's almost too good to be true.
They were respectable when they were "fringe". Mainstream "R"ism took over and it's a laughing stock. One more divisive tool for the establishment. Anyone involved that actually stood for principle has renounced their support. Fortunately, the concepts advertised initially attracted genuine people. Thus, the disingenuous intentions of the devolved "movement" have ensured it's downfall.
I think he's not too awful but a meathead nonetheless. Did you catch the footage of his remarks about his daughters? Saying they were "available?" The first time he said it, I thought it was sorta funny. Then he goes back to it again by saying something like ' . . . well Ayla (I forget the exact name) is definitely not available . . . but Susie is!! (gesturing to the other daughter whose name I also forget) More squeals of laughter, more of "oh no you dih-unt!" type reactions. The part that put me off was he then picked up each daughter's arm and said the name of each while holding their wooden arms sorta aloft. I mean WTF? He'd already referred to each by name. As the hot looking daughters of a highly visible new senator, these girls are going to have suitors beyond their wildest dreams (maybe one is married, engaged, I dunno what). They didn't need Dad's help on that one.
Aw come on, all of us Dads have a God given right to be morons where our daughters are concerned. I'm sure I was, just ask my dauther! Plus, maybe his daughters have been brining home less-than-desireable types and Dad wants to improve the pool.
Yes, I will be the first one to admit that your hope lies with a liberal, left wing Republican.
We are reaping the evils inherent in a 2 party system seized and run by professional career politicians serving their wealthy masters first and throwing us hapless hoi polloi little bones of encouragement to keep the muttering at a minimum.
Don't blame the 2 party system. It could be 5 parties and the answer would be the same. You can get KFC or Popeye's. Either way, you are getting chicken just that it might have a different flavor. People want to shove the responsibilities to the politician so he promises you more in the bidding war, aka election time. Like a loan, when it comes due, you pay the principle and the interest. Like many idiots at the payday loan stores, they finance the loan and interest one more time and when it comes due, they wonder why it was so high,
I wonder if Palin will back out at the last moment and then be back in again? Deserved or not she seems to have a reputation for this.
This is common in the film world. A star says they will do a bit for so much until the Producer is locked in to a schedule. Then the Stars' price goes up, sometimes way up. The Producer can sue, but meanwhile the Producer is losing cash everyday while trying to find a replacement. It is usually easier to just pay off the star and keep the production schedule on track. That's ShowBiz. |
