Perfect Police Department
During my recent travels to S.E. Asia- I happen to venture to Kuala Lumpor- which is the Capital city of Malaysia. one of the many surprises I saw ,were gaurds armed with "crowd control" pump shotguns. They were simply protecting a jewery store. My contact here informed me that Malaysias police department has a shoot first-ask questions later policy. It seems that when the police capture a criminal that is wanted for a serious offence...such as robbery....murder etc.. they are detained until a special unit arrives..at which time... the special unit officers can ..at their own descression- simply assasinate the suspect on the spot. Funny thing is...all the assasinated suspects seem to be carrying a .38 that has been used in many previuos robbery's! Thats what i call "rough justice"!!

anyone who has experience in street killing will tell you a 38 leaves no Bullet DNA behind - no one but morons uses ejecting weapons

But, I do agree that a spent shell does leave additional evidence. Even the mark of the firing pin can be distinctive. Tom |

Don't forget, when you are pulled over and they ask to see your fingers it is a bribe demand in Malaysia. Each finger represents $10

Any bullet, if recovered and RELATIVELY intact should have barrel markings on it. So, if it is in RELATIVELY good condition, you can match it to another slug that has been fired.

It's even simpler. Most mob hits are done at close range, generally behind the ear. The weapon of choice is a "zip gun", usually a revolver or single shot pistol chambered to hold a .22 LR cartridge.
On account of the close quarters action many zip guns are smoothbored which can be done with the proper cutting broach, boring bar or long industrial drill bit. Usually 2 cylindrical Briggs & Stratton lawnmower mufflers are used, but some creative types favor PVC pipe, lined with steel wool soaked in Lithium grease to absorb the sound. Naturally these "one use" weapons are destroyed after performing their tasks. Just thought you'd like to know

I've also heard the Ruger MK II .22 auto pistol was used for a while for assination. Its high rate of fire, point blank into the skull. Also, you have to get from the crime scene. So, there might not be time to take a file to the barrel. Even then, the gun is ruined. So might as well, pitch the gun or rebarrel it. Tom |
