Stupid Microsoft stock

I dont belive this. That Microsoft stock(MSFT) went down today. I have never seen a company come out with 60% earnings on the same day as the GDP number came out and ended up being DOWN $0.98 down PER SHARE. The stock is now at $28.18. That results in a down of 3.36% for the day:mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

After hours now show its at $28.07:mad:. That is awful for this stock. $28.00 a share pshhh:mad:

I would suggest you look into the genesis/origins of that "government-generated GDP number".......

Here's a hint; the answer lies within........;)

If Microsoft doesn't float your boat, (although I own a ton of MSFT too.....)
perhaps you should consider diversifying into one of my favorite stocks?

Hey Skid Row,
Got your message , thanks, you have your PM's turned off so I couldnt respond.

Some factors override all others. If MSFT hadn't posted such good earnings imagine what would have happened?

In general, large overall stats like inflation and unemployment numbers will affect the whole market. Sector related news will affect the sector and maybe affect related sectors, ie., oil news will affect auto manufacturing.

You want added rationality? Don't expect too much.

First of all, earnings reflect the past, and nobody cares about the past in the stock market. Second, A falling tide lowers all boats. Third, ever heard of "buy on the rumor, sell on the news"? Also known as "pump and dump". I bought some calls on the lows of the day. Hopefully we will see a dead cat bounce.

Yeah, that BRKB/A is having a nice run. I never knew about the SP500 potential for that. Great stuff if you have some!
