How Healthy Is Your County/State?

2009 Rankings by County in the US

Today, whether you live in Malibu or Atlanta, you can learn if your community is holding its own in health. "County Health Rankings: Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health," a health report card for almost every one of the nation's more than 3,000 counties, is being released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute.

That's funny, being the least obese state in the US isn't a very high bar.

Poor or Fair health : 13% ERROR MARGIN 12/14%
Poor Physical health days: 3.3 ERROR MARGIN 3.1/3.5
And just going on and on at the same way

So, could anyone tell me are we all dead here in Salt Lake City or we all alive?

You're up by Claire eh? Doesn't surprise me that that they are 82 out of 82..... I stayed in a camp ground near there last year and everyone is super fat and drink and smoke all day.

My county is #22....not the best, but way up the ladder! And certainly better than the county I work in.....which is #65!

What a surprise that Livingston is #1.....so typical. And yet the republicans still argue that it is not the rich who have the best health care and can spend the most on "their own well being"....

Dude Litchfield and Fairfield county are ranked number 3 and 4 in CT, and either one has more money than the entire state of MI put together.

Tolland county is poor for CT, per captia is only $25k, and empty...they are number 1.

Politics has nothing to do with it.

Not politics, but there is certainly a social/economic component.

I think their numbers are off. I don't believe only 23% of adults in Carson City smoke and only 17% of us binge drink.

Mine was 117 out of 221, apparently it is even more dangerous to your health to live on the Mexican border than it is to live next to an oil refinery. Not necessarily good news, and yet, it is mitigated by the wonderful fact that the isoproponal emissions make the sunsets look so pretty, especially when they mix it with 2-4-D.
