Anyone catch the USA vs. Canada game? What a great 'ockey match!
I know hockey isn't that popular in the U.S., but man, what a game last night! It was only a preliminary round match so the U.S. hasn't won anything yet, except a first round bye. Physical, back and forth play, lots of shots. Ryan Miller (Buffalo Sabres) was phenomenal in goal, stopping 42 shots. The hometown Canadians have a huge, heavy-hitting team and a ton of talent. I can't help but think they may have been looking ahead.
Canada is still the favorite to take the Gold but their quest just got a little more difficult.

In some ways it had that feeling. Canada has the size and talent and the U.S. team is the youngest. But to be fair, that U.S. team was all amateurs vs. the professional Russians. Now we just have the youngest professionals.

Both teams are comprised of NHL professionals, so there's not the 'underdog' story that there was in '80. Great game though. The last minute flurry of shots by Canada was incredible. Miller's never played a better game in his life.
