Talking This W123 grew some balls!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iry6S8TmuQI&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwLBbO9pjzI&feature=related

So the formula is:

W123 wagon -(diesel and/or small gas engine)+big V8= lots of fun!

Its a shame MB never actualy made the 560TE.

I don't like the wagon like the. The sedan and coupe can get away with it, but the wagon's appeal (to me, at least) is it's utility. Throwing a V8 into it just doesn't make any sense to me.

That thing is pretty bad-ass, though, and it still has, what, M110?

Um, think of what a 560TE could tow! That thing must be blast! I'd still rather have a 560SEC though.

Are you sure it's not an Euro 560, it's a German car?

It's most likely a Euro engine but the more powerful high compression version was the least common of the bunch (I'm fairly sure of that at least)

That would be the 300hp engine- 32hp is a typical drivetrain loss, and 268RWHP is pretty respectable.

You guys are to picky. But don't worry Mercedes fixed this problem.

Granted it only has 500hp, which isn't that much... probably not much faster than the 300TD... BUT, Brabus could turn the heat up for you a bit, to probably 700-800.

AMG made this W123 500TE. It's like a barn find, these are the first pictures of it seen on Peach parts, I was let into the dusty warehouse where this had sat for years since I last saw it...(around 2002 - 2003)

(Tight fit in here, so I took pic's as best possible...)

AMG 5 liter engine sounds like a Corvette motor, you should hear it.

Barry Taylor, owner of AMG West, used this one for his shop car for almost 20 years. I know it well.

A few years he put it away in storage, in his warehouse. I know this car well and have had rides in it.

It totally hauls ASS!! Built up in Germany by AMG in '84 it still has the rare AMG build plate on the radiator bracket.

It's actually for sale, and whag is unusual about that is whoever nabs it will be the FIRST US owner. It's a fully conterted and California legal euro, BUT it has ONLY been run on California dealer plates from new.

Barry retired it when he got hold of a W210 wagon with a mighty AMG 6.0 engine and that is his shop car now!!!

Holy $h!t do I wish I had the cash!!!! I'm a sucker for wagons, and sleeper wagons even more so. I'm warped enough to prefer them to sedans or coupes.

I like that wagon...shame it has all the tacky AMG stuff on it, steering wheel, skirts, etc. I could live with the wheels though. Given that I have about $50 to my name, I guess it's irrelevant either way.
