Doh!

I drove 70 miles out to NAS Fallon for a vaccination today. I left the clinic and then drove another 70 miles to Reno to take care of some business and have an early dinner. As I was getting in my car to go back to Carson City, I realized I left the library book I was reading at the clinic in Fallon. So, tomorrow I get to call them and see if they have it, which I'm pretty sure they do, and then drive out 70 miles each way to get it.

Did I mention I'm stuck driving the 250, which gets 15 mpg on premium? I really wouldn't mind the trip in my 300D, but it's still at the shop being converted to manual.

The good news: I picked up the plates from Tranny Donor so I can turn them in to DMV and cancel the registration and insurance on it tomorrow.

Driving a 250 on the highway is fun no matter what the mpg!

Probably be cheaper just to pay the library for the book.

Sorta involved but maybe you could mail them a postage paid book bag and pay the late fee-fine if it's a bit late. It'd be less time and money if it worked.

I mean, a pointless (or almost) drive of 140 miles is no fun.

I got gas once in Fallon. Cute girl at the register.

I second this notion, maybe you could renew the book to avoid any possible late fee as well. Good luck!

Bonus!

I did not leave the book at the clinic. After calling the clinic today, I rechecked the car more thoroughly and found it under the passenger seat. I was driving in a "spirited" manner for some of the trip, and it must have slid under there. This incident has not left me feeling any smarter.
