Red face Didn't get the 92...

Went to the dealer the other day, he had the 92FS Inox sold...but I wanted a 1911 and this one caught my eye. He gave me an very good price on it and I brought her home.

Its a basic Springfield Mil Spec, but since I'm a WW2 buff I love it. Its pretty much the same as the GI with better sights and a stainless barrel. Currently loaded with 230gr Speer Gold dots.

I went to the rifle range after I bought it to shoot some other stuff, and just for the heck of it I took it out fired a couple mags at the target 50 yards away. I guess it was beginners luck because some of the rounds hit so close I was able to put my thumb through the target when I went down range.

I have to say I'm very impressed with this 100 year old design. Its a heavy brick, but its sweet to shoot and points perfectly. Now I need a Wilson Combat!

It wasn't bad at all, only $610 out the door with tax. The owner gave me a very good price, only slightly above his cost.

Love the 1911. Big slow bullet with tremendous energy transfer.

I have a photo of myself somewhere wearing a 1911 in a shoulder holster before driving a staff captain into the DMZ, Korea.

Yep, pretty much standard government issue.

Yeah the .45ACP is one hell of a sleeping pill. Can't hold as many as a 9mm but its stopping power is undisputed.

I want your grips, my Taurus has plastic checked grips.
I need to get out to the range again, my wife just got me an M4 and a case of ammo as well. She got herself a Ruger revolver with interchangeable barrels that can handle either 45acp or 45 long colts. Huge sucker that long colt is-

Nice and a steal at that price! I need you to take me to your gun shop!

I always loved the 1911.
100 year old design that STILL is the best out there! Mr. Browning was a total genius.

I love the 1911! My uncle used to have a Remington Rand 1911A1 built in 1942. That was a nice gun. Unfortunatley it was worth much less because it had competition sights and grip checkering put on it by the previous owner. He sold it for about $600 ish. I wish I would have known, cause I would have bought it for sure. I really want to ditch my PT111 carry gun for a compact 1911 like gun. I am thinking PARA or a Kimber if I can scrape up the cash...

This guy is amazing, he pretty much sells at dealer cost. He was so busy I actualy had to wait in line to buy it. A PPK and Walther went out the door before me, and a couple Colt AR's were right behind me.

I like the 92FS, will probably get one of those and a CZ75 next.

Eventualy I want a Wilson Combat, but I'm not ready to drop $2,500+ on a 1911 yet!

Rather than drop that amount on a wilson check around your area for a gunsmith that does good work, I bought a springfield armory 1911-a1 about 20 years ago. Had the barrel machined to fit tighter a full length guide rod, different spring, trigger job(3.5 lbs) beaver tail safety and extended slide release done. All done a bit at a time and it will give a wilson a good run for its money. All for under $900. But I did get the gun for $275.

Nah I don't want to get it tricked out, I'll buy another 1911 for that. I want to it stay pretty much as issued.
