I am a big fan of broughrams too. I would love to get my hands on one in good condition.

Or a Maybach, huge, but supposedly handle well.

A 1957-66 Imperial would knock that overdressed 300 off the road and not even scuff its chrome bumpers.

My father once owned a 1968 Fleetwood Brougham - brocaded cloth, deep pile carpeting, rear seat passenger footrests and no less than eight power windows - all propelled by a 375 HP 472 ci engine. A '68 Calais makes the 2010 DTS look like an Impala.

Well the CL600 is probably better than the GT, but the Arnage costs twice as much and takes it to a whole other level.

The only time I ever felt like the S class wasn't that great was after I went for a ride in one. Kind of made the S feel like a Honda afterwards...light and cheap.

IMHO Duesenberg is still the best car in the world, and you can pretend to be the Great Gatsby driving one as you motor to your summer palace.

We owned a 59 Imperial when I was a kid. Ultimate luxury. The thing had 4 cigarette lighters for pete's sake. Fake continental trunk lid. Couple that with a muti-carbureted huge hemi engine and a 4 speed push button torqueflite automatic, positraction and you could take it to the drags on Saturday nights. My older brother got in trouble more than once for doing just that. That battleship hauled ass.

As far as cars that actual humans can afford to own and service, I'd love to have a mid to late 90's LS400. That V8 is one of the most bombproof motors ever built and the car drives like a dream, gets great mileage and is quiet as a tomb. I have a friend with one he bought new and now has > 300k miles on the clock. Still a beautiful car.

Well thats not saying much, a new Accord or Camry will make you think a W126 rides like crap.

Ok, if we are talking about money no object and ostentatious luxury, Rolls Royce Phantom it is. The car is exquisite. Ridden and driven one, and have to say, nothing can quite compare to it.

Now, money no object, and something that can fly under most radars.... Maybach. Ridden and driven one... Drivers seat/controls feels S-Classish, but back seat is wayyy over the top luxury.
