Too many of these cases where the drunk guy walks away and leaves someone else dead.

Repeat DUI kills mother and daughter ...
Quote:
LEWISVILLE — A man who has already been convicted of driving while intoxicated three times plowed into the back of a sedan on Interstate 35E in Lewisville early Sunday morning, killing the driver of the other car and her 13-year-old daughter, police said.

John Patrick Barton, who was on probation with three DWI convictions, now faces two counts of murder. He will be 30 years old on Monday,

Off with their heads. There is no excuse for drunk driving...NONE. You only hear about the really bad ones where someone dies too, not where there are severe debilitating injuries. If they reported on all of them the paper would just be more of an obituary. Honestly this **** makes me so angry (like many of you, I know close friends/family who have been killed by drunk drivers). One DUI should be enough to take a license away for GOOD. Forget terrorists...I'm more afraid of drunk drivers ending my life.

A notable Australian years ago had a solution; make all these deadbeats social security & other funds only payable in one remote town & spike the drinking water with the "pill". They are all gone in 1 generation!!
We have had a lot of problems with refugees from places like Somalia drink driving like at 5X the limit. How they got their license in the first place is a mystery. I think they need sending home!!

most people are unaware that there is a national association of DUI lawyers.
due to the lax DUI/DWI laws which allow for (promote?) repeat offenders, the DUI lawyers earn between $500K to a cool one million a year defending
these losers. how many jobs pay that kind of money? they benefit by
things continuing on just the way they are........

Yes Matt I sure can. Peruse local papers across the nation after doing a search for something like ''drunk driver in accident''.

All too often the offender is... Juan... or Jose ect with a Spanish surname.

Of course if our Federal government would do ITS job, they wouldnt be here to begin with would they ??

Bob, there is a human tendency which is best summed up as, "Remember the hits, forget the misses."

It skews your perceived frequency of certain events, compared to others.

Please back up your statement. I do no believe it, and it's not my job to disprove what you write.

I read that the reason people get hurt is because they tense up in danger, it makes it easier to brake your bones. People who are high or drunk don't tense up so they don't get injured as easily. Honestly its kind of better that way. Those people get to wake up in the hospital and have to live with the fact that they killed another human being, one who was totally innocent, because of their own stupidity. Dying on the scene with the other guy would have been a light sentence.

NOT trying to hijack the thread but in response to Matt... illegals are Federal criminals. IF the Federal government was doing its job they would not be here. This is my last comment on the subject here.

As far as proof of deaths caused, one blatant example comes to mind. The Los Angeles times, as liberal as they are, has several times made the statement that 95% of the outstanding murder 1 warrants are for illegals.

Another one is a late 50's couple who were killed coming home from church on a Sunday morning. They were killed by an illegal who has several prior DUI's.
That was in Mount Joliet, Tn.

I'm sure that it happens, Bob. That wasn't my contention nor my critique of your prior statement. The problem is, claiming individual examples as proof of a widespread problem is not an argument.

I haven't seen that claim by the LA times; perhaps it is the case and I am not questioning that particular claim. Lots of illegals in LA, I'm sure.

Around here, it really does seem that all the DUI's are local boys. I very, very rarely read of an illegal being arrested for DUI, and read about an American DUI several times a week. Perhaps I only read about the persistent offenders; I don't know. That's why I was asking you for evidence.
