I'd kill for a set of these rims.

Well, not me at least.

It comes as no surprise to me. Wars have been started over lesser things.

I think they are speaking in general about people getting killed over rims, not that specific wire set. People being stupid nonetheless.

20 years ago it was Cazele Glasses, 15 years ago it was Air jordans,

10 years ago it was a certain jacket, now it's Rims...

I bet the rims were worth more than the ride they were on.

I see idjits buying $2K rims for a KIA!

No matter how much you sorta expect it, it still shocks the imagination. It's a seriously empty life that seems like it can be made whole with rims taken by murder.

On a related note, NBA choke artist and former bay area denizen Latrell Sprewell used some of his earnings at one point to invest in a spinning rim manufacturing venture. Not sure how that one turned out.

there is a difference between feeling like **** because youre broke, and thinking you are **** because you are broke, the first is not so bad, the latter is sad.

He started out calling them "Sprewells", and they were pioneering "spinners" of the era, but eventually was distributed by Davin Rims.

I suppose the copycats that followed eroded the potential windfall that venture may have given him...

This is why poor people will always be poor, they spend their money and lust after stupid things.

More images of these "swangers". Scratching my head over the appeal......not particularly attractive IMHO...
