Cars-What do you see more of?
A recent argument came up with my favorite friend the other day. She stated that she sees more PT Cruisers on the road then any other car. I thought of this as a challenge and retaliated with a little game with what I believe is the most seen car on the road today. The Toyota Camry. She disagreed so I made a bit of a game of it....anytime we were out driving we would point out said models. Now to prove that I was right I gave myself a handicap of only pointing out Beige Camry's....so far it would appear that i'm winning....can we get a forum consensus on this little game?

My first car was a beige Camry, it wasn't so bad.
OTOH it completly turned me off from beige, I'll never own another beige car.

I see one of each every day at work although the Camry is silver.
For all the derision the PT Cruiser gets my father beats the hell out of his as his runabout car and to and from their boat, it can carry a surprising amount of stuff, gets decent mileage and hasn't skipped a beat at 160K+. Although he meticulously maintains it and cleans it which may be why it's held up better than the ones everyone else sees. And being a typical frugal Yankee he'll probably drive it for a few more years.

Manual transmissions are fun
I just got rid of my champagne color 1996 Toyota Corolla in December, now I see cars just like it all over the place.
One thing I liked about it was the manual shift. I hadn't driven one of them for maybe 20 years, when I was looking for a 1977-1978 240D to buy. It's fun, to shift again. You never forget how.

How can you tell, most late model cars look the same? The PT is probably just easier to notice.

Its weird, around here there are a lot of Altimas, Camrys, Subarus....etc....but 40 miles from here, there are a TON of PT cruisers.....my workplace has 6 of them as company cars...regretably. It will be interesting to observe them all falling apart in the next year or two (they've all got between 35-65k on them....) The one I drive has 40,090 miles...and weird issues...shuddering tranny, rough idle.....squealing belts....
They are awful cars. He should replace them with Ford Transit's IMHO.

Would trucks be included?
I don't notice cars as much in Texas for all of the trucks that dominate the roads.
I would otherwise add "Ford F-150" to the list. But here's a hijack thought...do you ever notice that when you buy a particular brand of vehicle, that suddenly you become keenly aware that there are several others of the same make/model on the road too?

But yeah, I know that thought...I thought that thought... If you are thinking about it, you notice it more. But now Mr. Fulcrum won't let me forget this. He points out all these beige camrys....I've changed my mind to Nissan Altima, however I punch him every time I see a VW beetle, a PT Cruiser, and now the Altima. |

My g/f has a gunmetal (dark gray ) 2005 Honda Accord. Not many of them on the road?
And x2 to the F150 comment...I would toss in Ford SUV's into that mix too. Ford sells trucks, I'll give 'em that. |

In Colorado the number of Subaru's everywhere is mind numbing.
