A general thankyou
Last year I posted my old lawn tractor was dieing and wanted to rebuild it, but couldn't find the parts and was something I've never done.
Thanks to some pointers and encouragement from a number of people here I rebuilt it and it is finally running great. After I rebuilt it, and until recently I was having some problems with the governor. Finally after a serious sit down with it and figuring it out I have it almost exactly were it should be. What I found was 2 issue's, adjustments to the governor are minute a 1 degree change is a major adjustment. And the second is I think that you have to load the spring just right. Well it's not perfect, but so close I'm afraid to try and play with it anymore. I might but ??? Wether it was worth it or not I don't know, but it makes me feel good to have done something I've never done before, and pretty much on my own. Figure it cost 150 bucks which included a magneto and the honing tool, I probably spent 10 to 12 hours leisurely doing the rebuild which included power washing the tractor and disassembly to get the engine off. Several hours of that getting the lower pulley off the engine shaft. What a pain. But I have lots of extra parts for the tractor, along with a snowblower and thatcher that are garbage if I traded it in. Thanks ALL
