I'm chilling in the airport right now coming back from my trip. Apparently "enhanced" security means a walk through normal security and then a walk through the grundle massage pat down and complete inspection of EVERY piece of luggage.

the Israelis ask each airline passenger a series of questions PRIOR to boarding. if the passenger offers up incorrect responses, no boarding the aircraft. seems to work and work well. no drawn out luggage searches, no feeling up your wife's metal bra, no theft of that high dollar camera by the $6.00/hr baggage handlers because your luggage has no locks, etc etc. it is simple and it works. in addition, the Israeli pilots pack heat.

Yeah but the car bomber was a white guy in his mid 40s. How would profiling help?

The threat at the airports prior to the alleged car bomb was exactly the same as it was after the alleged car bomb was discovered.

Like the military, DHS is preparing for the LAST event. We are prepared for anyone trying to fly planes into buildings again. I seriously doubt that passengers would ever allow that to happen, again. They know they all die in the end anyway, so why not go down fighting.
But DHS thinks every white grand mother is a potential threat.

Meanwhile the terrorists are working on new plans. When they attack, we will fix that area, and suffer another loss of freedom, or at least a growth of inconvenience. And the terrorists will move to another target.

My step dad won an all expense paid trip there through his work for being the highest seller in his group. Mommy couldn't come so I went instead

We stayed at the Sandal's Halcyon resort. Kinda weird since it was a couples resort, but I was making the best of it.

If you're staying a whole week make sure you get a car and travel the island. Don't be afraid of saying hi to the locals. Some of the towns like Soufrie (spelling?) Anse La Raye, and Dennry are in the middle of nowhere and are at the level of Lonely Planet. They love talking to visitors Make sure you get some local cuisine too. Resort food is just lame. Get jerk chicken, roadies, and other spicy stuff.

Also the block party every Thursday in Gros Islet is really raging. Make sure you wear pants with buttons to lock your wallet away though. I got my butt padded at least twice and I said back to the guy, "Yo man that's not cool."

They party hard there. I'm still exhausted

We are going to Sandals Grande we were there last year too, we stayed a t Halycon twice a few years back. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.


Yes it's a lovely island, lots of fun.
We went off property one of those times with some of the stafff at the hotel, locals.
We hit a couple of local bars, but we usually just stay on the resort.
