Do you like spicey food?!

For me, the spicier the better - when the tears are in my eyes and the napkin is there to stop my runny nose, that's when the food tastes really good...

One of my favorite foods is Thai food - these guys know spicy, so much that I can't eat some of their dishes, it's simply too much, but the curries and the spicy noodles they have are absolutely fantastic.

I'm a fan of thai and indian food, I've played with some spice rubs, I've nicknamed one of them the afterburner, it starts nice and smokey and a few seconds later you feel the burn lol

I have IBS. one whiff of spicy food and I have to drop deuce.

I flagellate often and the bouquet that permeates my anus can stop an ox in it's tracks

The other day in the Food Lion I crop dusted the cereal aisle and could hear the rumbling of kelloggs lovers gasping for air. Ha ha what a hoot.

My brother's friends bet a guy a six pack that he could not drink a teaspoon of tabasco sauce.

The guy took the bet and gulped it down.

He had to drink half the six pack to put out the fire, though.

When I was a kid...I had a tablespoon of tabasco as a punishment

I guess nowadays it probably wouldn't do too much. Now...if it was some blair's...

Asian, cajun, southwest - I love it all!

There's a super hot pepper called the bhut jolokia, the hottest pepper in the world. I'm going to try to grow it this summer.

I cook a lot because so mu8ch food is junky and just doesn't taste good.

Right now am using a lot of peppers and salmon to make a good mixed grille, with a lot of habanero and some lime.

Working out the combinations and it's coming up ok, especially nin an omelet in the morning!

Hot and spicy yes, but it has to have a flavour to it.
Too many "Hot" dishes are just HOT, Dave's sauce as an example.

I love hot and spicey foods, I've gone into a variety of resturants and told them to scare me, none have.
Local Mexican resturant had a steak dish, fantastic and HOT. I'm snarfing this thing down, my lil Bro tried a tiny bite to see what it was like, almost thought he was gonna die.

Great little bar by us makes great hot wings, for a while there the chef (a friend of ours) kept upping the level to see if it would slow us down.
Never did, but we did slow him down, you want to be able to enjoy dinner after the wings. He'll still make them extra hot if we are just in for drinks and a snack.

Still need to have a flavour to the heat, not just heat.

Yes I've heard of the bhut jolokia, I do want to try them. Maybe see if I can get some for some cooking.

Modern Marvels has a "Hot and Spicey" show, pretty good explains what causes the heat, where it's in the peppers (actually a fruit), they are actually quite nutrious.
Watch for it.

Usually I grow peppers every year. Various kinds, jalapenos, habeneros, hatch, etc. Didn't plant any this year. Just don't have time. Never tried any of the killer types though.

There is a chili spice store here that sells every kind of hot sauce known to man, including pure cap. Have tried a few of them, but most of them are just hot, without any real flavor.

A teaspoon of Tabasco brand hot pepper sauce goes a looong ways.

I've been eating fried oyster loaf poor boys in New Orleans for almost 40 years. Mandina's on Canal Street has a very reliable oyster po' boy. Tabasco is great sprinkled on every bite. Mother's south of downtown New Orleans has reliable po' boys too. Roast beef 'debris' is Mother's specialty. Felix Oyster Bar in the French Quarter has probably the best raw oysters on-the-half-shell I've ever had. A dash of Tabasco in your ketchup/horseradish cocktail sauce always works too.

Prostates beware! Ha!

Being in Houston, we're only 90 or so miles from the Louisiana border, so there's plenty of good and spicy cajun and creole dishes to be found. One place in town I frequent that specializes in such dishes is Beaucoup. The food's so good that they pretty much know my name there. If any of you ever come to town, you'll have to try it. Pretty authentic as the owners are from NOLA.

I've had tabasco, and other hot sauces, but I've always liked this stuff, esp mixing it with ketchup.

Also, with this being the South, pinto beans, mustards and collards can find a good companion in pepper sauce.
