Gay lights ?

I have been told, with some authority, that running around at night with fog or driving lamps lit with low beams on is a sign to others you are gay. ( When it's not foggy.)

So, in the interests of science I started a poll tonight. Two of 4 people though it was so at the diner.

Counting the number of vehicles on the interstate tonight with and without fog or driving lamps came out pretty even between trucks and cars. The total vehicles WITH fogs or driving lamps was about 1 in every 15 to 18 vehicles, making, obviously, 1 in 15 to 18 vehicles being driven by someone gay.

The national average of gays per population is about 15 in every 100 are gay.
One site said ...."Most sociologists agree that 5% of the world population is gay."

So, with those figures the 'gay lights' statement seems to hold water.
So my informants seem to be right.

That's completely absurd on two levels:

Fog lights are used at night to put more light on the road - it's a safety issue. More light = better vision.

15% of the US is gay? Way too high.

Agreed. I put my fogs on in low lit areas all the time (And this is with the Euro lights....) Before those I had to have the fogs on all the time to get a decent amount of light out onto the street.

Heck back in the 1980's everyone who had fog or driving lights had them on all the time.

I drive with them on a lot as I live where there are deer and the fogs give enough light on the edges of the road to see them before they leap out.

I guess if that makes me gay I will have to leave the wifey now...

I use mine if it is really dark, or if it is raining....or, foggy. Has nothing to do with being gay.

Those people are just jealous you're driving a nice European car and not some domestic car.

Time to start a poll on pole dancers who use their fog lights to make sure they see wandering polecats during their drive to work. No polemics allowed.

Well, it was 2am ...but error now corrected.

Looks like I am not the only one confused about fog/driving lights...

I'll run them at dusk or during the day when the light is not too good. I figure it puts less hours on my regular lights which are more costly to replace. It also puts out more light directly in front of my car and off to the sides.
