Thanks Kerry,

Very nice, distintive look. Actually not that long of a coach. This looks to be more rustic inside than my taste, but over all a great ride.
I limited my search to a company still in business and got a MCI 5C.

The inside does look a little dated. I owned a 71 Travco with a similar dated interior, but it was completely functional. If I didn't have a Wanderlodge I'd be looking at it. Not much underbay storage.

There was a beautiful example of one of those in the Robin Williams movie "RV" in 2006:

If I ever had a motor coach I would want it set up like Jay Leno's, with a 600HP cummins in back.

No sure how Jay Leno got 600 hp in there, I am sure he did with many $$'s. Next prob is getting 600hp waste heat out of there. Rad's must be huge.

I also liked the layout in the Flxible, with the rear two singles, although there are two headknockers with that center nightstand/cabinet that close to the beds.

I love that rear "garage" storage area with entrance door. Just how much stuff could I haul, and never use....tools, jacks, blocking, spare tire, extra fuel, filters, oil, antifreeze.....

Cool!

Great design, great colors, and I dig the mother in law room in back.

Yeah, his bus had an ultra-powerful cooling system and custom radiator to make it work. Everything was custom, probably cost $$$$$$$$$$.

Not in 30+ years........FMC was far superior in it's day. Now that was a coach!

The Prevost and Newell coaches rule the roost these days. Can't beat 'em!

FMC's were nice with their independent suspensions but were notorious for cooling problems with the rear gas engines. There were also monocoque construction and sometimes had issues with their subframes, particularly when converted to diesel power. It wouldn't surprise me if parts for Flxibles were easier to find than parts for FMCs.

The one in the movie RV looks to be an original bus converted to an RV whereas the one in the Craigslist ad is a RV right from the start I think.

I didnt know we had any "BUS NUTS " HERE

Fellas
I turned my efforts to the mer cedes after the wife promised a divorce if I bought the bus.
After all, what the hell am I going to do with a 35' 26,000 bus ?

So the older benz seemed to be more practical..........

Yet someday I'm going to buy one of those , have been on a similar board to ours for the last couple of years, just on the sidelines.
I 've watched the pricing over the last couple of years and $15-25,000 can buy a wonderful unit. Not a project per say ,but a unit that has been done over , well maintained . These guys ( bus nuts ) are just as fixated on their buses as some us car nuts .Literally thousands of hours of labor and $$$-
and that "wonderful" ..... return on investment < .25on a$1.00 ?
I'm partial to the GM series 4104 and 4106. Built like a airplane -monocaque design . Built to a D.O.T. standard - they must maintain integrity during a rollover ( motor home - not so much (sticks /staples) )
They were designed and built for revenue service, 400-500 MILES ADAY EVERYDAY.
The 4104 w/671 detroit realizes 8-11 mpg
The 4106 w/ 318 detroit 6-8 mpg

The 4106 is sometimes referenced as "the sports car of buses". ( now thats funny)

http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php

http://www.busnut.com/home.html

Same scenario - lots of great guys ,Depth of experience , various backgrounds and everyone ready to help.
