Driving cross country....

Yep, packing the car, and heading east. Just graduated from college, and my dads just about in retirement, so we figure, what the hell, lets go for a long drive! We are both car nuts who love driving, so it should be fun....

We only have 2 planned stops.... One stop in Logan, Utah and then another in Denver, Colorado. Leaving this Weds AM.

Other than that, we got nothing else planned.... Just going to decide where to go/what to do when we are done in Colorado....

So, with that said, who/what/where would you peoples suggest going? We kinda want to hit Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park.

Oh, and you guys are going to love the vehicle we have decided to take....

Whoever can guess what we are driving will win a special prize!

Awesome!

Find some of old Route 66. Through New Mexico was particularly fun for Darling Wife and I.

College World Series starts in Omaha, NE. this weekend. I wouldn't miss many games if I were still in Omaha - but I'm back in the sweat mines of Texas.

I'll throw one recommendation at ya. If you're gonna visit mt. rushmore I think you should also swing by crazy horse national monument, they're pretty close to one another. Personally, I think I may like crazy horse better, it's pretty cool to see the monument in progress and there is a good interpretive center to boot. Yep, have fun!

Fort Union near Williston, ND is an interesting stop that sounds like it's on your loop if you're traveling between Glacier and the Black Hills. It was the Wall Street of the fur industry in the 1820s-1830s. Catch the Teddy Roosevelt museum (and park) near Medora on the way. And don't miss Devil's Tower in northeast Wyoming. The South Dakota Badlands is worth a detour as well.

I love driving out in the Western Dakotas and eastern Wyoming/Montana. It's scenic, but you can really cruise.

Speaking of X-Country driving...

Whatever happened to that "Traveling Medallion" that someone was suppose to pass on to the next PP-Poster they met on the medallion's trip across the US?

Is it jammed into some forgotten trunk of a W123 or W126 somewhere in the middle of Outer Swobodia?

IWROCK!!! While you and your dad are "running around" out there somewhere, maybe you can find the "Lost Medallion Of The Peach-Parts Posters" and return it to its rightful place...among the masses, being passed from one MB-lover to the next...
