Acetone/atf works well.
You become a bit unpopular when you borrow the wife's nail polish remover (acetone) though. Best to only mix a small amount at a time as the acetone evaporates out over time.

I think you can buy acetone/fingernail polish remover at WalMart for like $1 for a 4 ounce plastic bottle. Look in cosmetics section.
