I don't know that I have my VIN anywhere in my house on my last MB.

I'm curious as to the whereabouts/state of my beloved '83 300SD I sold to an ungrateful man up the street that bought it 12 years ago. As Thayer said in his sig. at one time; 'I didn't (fully) know what I had,' in a car that awesome.:o

My O4 Element doesn't use a drop between changes and the oil looks sparkly clean when I change it for my wife at 4-5K mi. intervals. The car has 130K on it and we live on several miles of dirt road out to the highway. If it did start to burn oil though, I'd trade it off in a heartbeat. Not worth the engine swap IMO. Completely different engine though. Mine has a timing chain.:D

Sorry I'm done with older cars for now. My next MB will be new or CPO with a good chunk of warranty left. After my friends G500 experience not interested.

No one trades in a car because its a great car, they get sick of the problems and move on.

Silver Arrow = Failing Health
Buick Roadmaste r= Death of original owner
1984 SL500 = Downsizing collection for business
95,95, 80 Mercedes from Jimmy- Wanted a newer car

The 20 or so other unremarkable cars were simply older new car trade ins. People like newer stuff every 5 years or so.

I've been burned twice on Cadillacs, both were probably trade in dumps in retrospect.
