CHief of Staff to resign.... what does this mean?

I am not really up to date with all this.

What are the further implications of this resignation?

Rahm Emanuel just can't take it anymore.
That's what 'Washington insiders' are telling the London Telegraph, which reports that the White House chief of staff is tired of sparring with both Republicans and fellow Democrats and will quit in the next six to eight months.
"I would bet he will go after the midterms," The Telegraph quotes a 'leading Democratic' source as saying.
"Nobody thinks it's working but they can't get rid of him - that would look awful. He needs the right sort of job to go but the consensus is he'll go."

I think it means it is politically expedient for him to move on and to find another sucker to take his place. I do not feel like looking but what president has has not had a cabinet level staff leave during a term in office?

it's the revolving door thing. do "public service", then go into private industry and leverage your connections to make some serious cash. then go back into "public serivce" ... (repeat as necessary) (power and money, uber alles)

Wait,Help me Understand...

The British "Fish Wrappers" see U.S. Politics as an
"Engine Needing a Monkey Wrench"
(Which they are always happy, [Ecstatically/Gleefully !!!] to provide, Gratis
simply for their own amusement.)

AND you're so uninthralled with our domestic news sources that you'd use
these London "Sprites" as a viable information source?

Oh,Wait the New York Daily News is Quoting the London Telegraph.

(Like Having one hooker quote another)
(Or Zuckerman quotes the Barclays)

no... it was on Google's main page... I found it surprising.

I do like BBC and The Economist, though. So hang me?

Are you cryptically suggesting this is sabotage via rumoring?

This story came from the Torygraph, so of course it is not going to say anything good about Obama.

This newspaper is also known for printing several Obits of famous people who are not dead. Just why they have done this I am not sure, but it speaks to their fact finding ability.

And how can something be called news when it is just gossip? Anyone here remember Hedda Hopper? She ran stories like this about Hollywood people all the time to build up her readership.

But now Rush and all the other talkers can say, 'According to the Daily Telegraph....'.

I bet Hillary will bail after the mid terms. She will want to make another run and at her age it needs to be 2012 and not 2016. She needs to get out as early as possible otherwise she could not run against Barry and criticize his policies when she was part of his administration.

Another plan would be to have her take over as the VP candidate in 2012 and then she would be in line in 2016. But Barry is most likely a 1 term president, and the congress will be Republican by 2012, if not this year, so she may have missed her chance to do anything. But some will argue she might help Barry in 2012 to get re-elected....
