A/c system takes a big Oui on my carpet

Ok. my AC system is takin a big whiz on my carpet and the plickin sound is Driving me mad....is there a way to clean the drain line or whatever is blocked from the outside?

Does your condensate line drain to daylight? If it does, a friend in the HVAC biz advised me he keeps a piece of 3/4" PVC with and 90 elbow on the end stashed in his truck. If he encounters a clogged condensate drain, he slips the elbow over the end of the drain and blows into it to dislodge the clog. He said a big rush of water usually follows.

The P trap on my indoor unit in my attic clogged last week in the middle of the night. Caused the indoor unit's condensate to run into the overflow pan. Since the pan drains into the same line as the main condensate drain, the pan filled up and overflowed as well. We found out when it ran through the ceiling.

In my case, the main and overflow drains connect into a vent line in my attic. The water flows into the sanitary sewer. That means I couldn't do the blow up the drain trick. I had to cut my lines and remove the P trap to unclog it. Did this at 2 AM. Not fun.

Swimming Pool in the Cabin

1 Attachment(s)
W124 has Two condensate drains ,one on each side of the Transmission tunnel.

The Problem is...They're both FOAM TUBES [What a stupid Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
'Long time passes, the FOAM TUBES "Dis-Integrate".

A major benefit of a Podectomy is the access to the bottom of the Evaporator
Drain Pan, to be able to REPLACE the STUPID FOAM TUBES with Tygothane.

Oh ,Well. Horse of a different color.

Where is the end of the Condensate Drain Pipe?
'Can you access it?

Example:
HVAC system in this house is in an interior closet (Evaporator and Gas fired H.E.).
The Compressor is outside.
The Evap Pan Drain is 1" PVC THAT GOES INTO THE CEMENT SLAB AND COMES
UP [VIA a PVC "Gooseneck" ,Removable] outside next to the Compressor. It's
ALWAYS full of Condensate!!! Every couple of months it gets 1 teaspoon of
Bleach @ the interior drain pan ,and even then sometimes "Snot" grows in the
underground portion of the PVC.

Enter the Shop Vac. Small Vacuum hose Duct taped to the outside of the
PVC drain line ,Apply Vacuum.
Apply Hot Water Flush with a funnel and 3 gallons of boiling water to the Interior end of the PVC Pipe.
Problem Solved.

BIL' s old house,in town, had the HVAC unit in the attic with same sort of PVC
type drain line. The HVAC unit sat in a 6" high Tin Condensate Pan.
Same Problem.Same Solution.

Apparently the re-roof shook one of the drain lines loose from the pan or drain, simple fix, and no more oui'ing on the carpet
