I'm amazed considering how hard times are. We have been trying to get rid of my sisters Olds for two weeks on craigslist, lots of calls but no one will even come by to look at it! You would think a $700 car, that has good tires and runs pretty well would spark some interest. No one even came by to low ball us. The worst part is people say they will come in look at it but never show up. I guess thats what you get for dealing with bums. Frankly my dad and I are sick of it, its getting junked this weekend.

I just donated my POS jeep to charity, I picked the charity and they came and towed it away. They sold it to a salvage yard (I assume) and sent me a receipt for $575 a couple of weeks later. No hassle, and no dealing with the public; and I get a tax deduction.

Sometimes they do sell; my brother (in RI) listed a 10 year old Buick (part of a relatives estate) on craigslist for about $2k and sold it on the first day.

Every car I've put on craigslist at a serious price sold within a week, most within 48 hours.

I bet if you put a fresh, well worded, photographed ad up this Friday after 5:00 it will be gone by Sunday.

I've been considering picking up a winter beater...if it were 6 months from now I'd be interested.

I have never had any luck with craigslist selling anything. Ebay has always treated me well, but this car doesn't seem like ebay material.

Selling my low mileage 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Its been a good driver for my family, but we are moving on, and it should give the next owner years of good service. Runs and drives well, cold AC, comfy velour interior, and power windows/locks. While it did have some frame rot we had it reinforced, and is as safe and sturdy as a 22 year old car can be. Your attitude is why you are unsuccessful at craigslist. Also, you have to relist weekly, maybe even daily on the weekends to stay near the top.
