August roll-call

Howdy All,
Ripped another page off the desk calendar. That just might be the most exciting thing I do this month unless I go down to the Bass Pro Shop for one of their events. So what does everyone have going this month?

Is it August already?

Leaving my job of 15 1/2 years this Friday. 3 of the 5 days this week are vacation...

Got back from my B-day celebration this morning about 0530...haven't done anything that remotely late (or dumb) for A LONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG time like that....

Felt sorta' good...gettin' home when the birds are just waking up and kicking each other for making too much noise... Makes you laugh when animals are fighting the first thing in the morning...

Got woked up (sp?) by the X about an hour ago...she was wondering what happened yesterday...I ain't saying much...I'll blame it on the cows and take it from there.

The disappointing part?

My B-day is always a point in the calendar that rubs it in...mainly the fact that there's ONLY one full month of summer left and I really haven't had the chance to enjoy it that much...yet.

Better get going!

Re-constructing plans for the rest of August, since kidlet went deep-angst on me and is refusing to come out to MD for his summer visit. GDMF worthless lump of flesh that claims to be his mother is, as always, right smack dab in the middle of the $h|tstorm.

On a brighter note, been having a ball with niece Kelley, and we're now making plans to bring her back out for either the pirate ball or the Renn Faire......

Ay-yuh, still hee-ah.

Looking forward to the kids getting back to school. I've got next week off so we're probably headed up to ME for a few days just to reinforce the previous statement.

I don't know where the hell the summer went. We haven't really done anything but we haven't had any spare time either.

The Mrs. applied for a Special Ed para-professional position at our school so I've got my fingers crossed for her and myself. After 13 years on one income, even a little help would go a long ways! She wasn't going to do anything until our youngest started school full-time (which isn't until next year), but this position just opened up and it's for the morning session when my little guy is in school so she figured she'd try throwing her hat in the ring and see what happens. She's more than qualified with a Special Education degree and a mom of a kid with special needs, but has been out of the loop for over a decade so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. And there's always the chance that the position was filled before it was even posted.
