Recomendations on a R/O system

Buying a new home and I need a new R/O system for it. I currently have a 5 stage and was looking for those and stumbled upon this one with some sort of alkaline balls in it.

RO system

Anyone have one of these? Any ideas?

We only drink rain water that has been boiled. Tastes great, crystal clear, never had any problems.

I recommend shipping in Houston tap water. The newer insecticides are giving it a nuttier, more robust palate, and of course, the fizz from the isopropane is always refreshing. And, you can run your lawn mower on it.

You're a laugh a min JR. I guess I'll just stick with the 5 stage that I am used to.

You are aware that it takes 5 gallons of water plus or minus to make a gallon of purified water using RO systems, right? about 4 gallons of brine goes down your drain for every gallon of palatable water produced. Our water comes from a spring and a well, but if I needed to purify it for drinking I believe I'd look at other setups that don't waste so much. Clean water will one day become a valuable commodity. Wasting it is unconscionable.
That system claims to make water slightly alkaline. I'd definitely check the ph of the water to the house before installing such a unit. Lots of water in the U.S. is already alkaline. That's what makes it hard in the first place, calcium and magnesium.

Definitely spoken like someone from an arid climate. Used to be the same way after years in CO, now in CT... we got so much water that I just pour it on the lawn

Billy Corgan: Hey, Homer, looks like our next stop is your hometown, Springfield.

D'Arcy: Is it true that we have to bring our own water?

Homer: We got a little rule back home: if it's brown, drink it down; if it's black, send it back.

Haha one advantage to living in the North East.

An abundance of water. I live on a "Great Lake" of fresh water

Matter is neither created nor destroyed.
Searecovery
is the better known water makers for marine use- don't know if they make just R/O units for home use however.
