I am serious on this one, I have been paid to deliver summons before. For some reason I seem to scare the $hit out of people in person, and I don't know why.

Plan A didn't work. Gave the summons to the Sheriff to serve at work. Unfortunately he's out on medical leave.
What's the best way to find his current address so I can attempt to serve him at home. Other tenants in the building say he moved in with his girlfriend. I don't know her name.

I considered asking someone to friend him on Facebook to see if I could figure out his girlfriend's name from his friends or postings, or info.

You did say that you cannot serve by publication or wait him out?

You might need a PI to do that and I am not sure how much you are willing to spend.

Given you know he works at the hospital, you could borrow a car he doesnt know & just follow him home. With a bit of luck he may stop by a shop & you (the person who is serving for you) can pounce then.

Kerry, what's the guy's name? Just go to whitepages.com or even google his name with the city after so it'll pick up his address.

I can find him in those search engines but they show him still living at my apartment.

What is hated by the Courts is the use of "sewer" service, ie, fake, (no service actually made) but the proof of service was nonetheless filed with the court saying it had been made.
Jim, you can't do anything illegal or imoral in service. A person could have their case tossed in the basket over service.

Another option is to contact the Hospital's Administrator. Schedule a meeting, explain to him the fact that one of his employees is ditching a responsibility and it's resulting in you having to go this far (as in getting the HA involved) and ask if he can call said "deadbeat" to his office, then service him there, right in front of his boss.

The worst he can say is "No."

The best he can say is "Hey! Dumbass! Get your sorry excuse for a rump in here!"

Give it a shot. Otherwise, you can, at least, let the HA know you're going to be hanging around the premises like some wayward perv.. And I know you don't like the idea of doing that!!!

Good Luck!

I hope there is significant money involved to justify the amount of effort involved.
