Remembering the Dot Com Bubble

Lycos, the Timex of Dot Coms, Keeps On Ticking

In 2000, it was bought by a Spanish telecom for . . . wait for it . . $12.5 Billion stock swap. They sold it in 2004 for the firesale price of $95M.

Today it was sold by it's Korean owners to an Indian company for $36M

For you kids . . . Lycos was a web portal company like AOL.

Didn't Karl Rove say that the Dot.Com industry was such a great business to get into that we should cancel Social Security and invest all of our money in that and other 'sure things'?

They should have invested in Tulip Bulbs and Investment Grade diamonds!
