I must admit the Russkie origin sounds more real. It also sounds like a term they would use after it was translated into English.

Another term that I think applies here go back even further. 'Playing them like a fiddle' is what the 'builders' of the Culture Center are doing to the Republicans.
Rove just picked up his bag of tricks where ever he found them--From Lee Attwater, the "ruskies" etc.

Do you hate him because he was effective?

Karl Rove = the liberal lickspittle's "Kaiser Soze”!

Both, viewed by the left as the invisible hand responsible for every evil that befalls them while simultaneously terrifying them into incontinence.

Uh...Sure, pal. I suppose you feel the country should have just continued down further into the Bucket of Dung the puppet master and his monkey directed us into.

Rove and Bush were a tremendous political team, but it's starting to look like Rove was a one-trick pony. His prognostications haven't been so good for the past several election cycles.

I find it amusing how often dems blame Rove for what is really their own incompetence.
If he were only as smart as they give him credit for...

He didn't have to be very smart, just a little smarter than his boss.

My biggest issue with Rove is what he did to McCain in 2000. He was accused of having an interracial child out of wed lock. Never mid that the little girl was adopted. I saw an interview with Ms McCain in 2008 and she said that one day her daughter did a web search on her name and came up with all these hits. Ms McCain said that Bridget McCain came to her crying when she read some of the things that were written about her.

As far as I am concerned, that is a vile and reprehensible thing to do. How McCain could forgive such and action against one of his daughters I do not understand.

Agreed. When that occurred, I had long before already lost any illusions about how dirty politics could be, but with this stunt they dropped even lower than I'd thought possible.

I don't know what was sadder - that they actually stooped this low, or that there wasn't more outrage in this country over using a child as the butt of such a crass political stunt.

I think McCain knew this was a setup - if he protested too vigorously over the comments about his adopted daughter, the Bushies would have held that up as "proof" of the comments about his legendary temper and that he was too hot-headed to be Prez - and on the other hand if he didn't protest enough he'd be portrayed as too spineless to even protect his own family.

I prefer to give the man a little credit and go with that thought, versus the colder conclusion that he wanted the nomination so badly there was no limit to the amount of crap he would swallow or a$$ he would kiss within his own party to get it. But his subsequent actions in the following 8 years does lend some credence to the latter.

Indeed. In 2000, the election was theirs to lose, and good old Al managed to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even Shrub was amazed that his side managed to squeak out a victory close as it was - he said something akin to "we were running against 8 years of peace and unparalelled prosperity, and by all rights should have had our butts handed to us".

It is always more palatable to blame some evil villain, rather then admit the fault lies with ones self. Applies to repubs, too--

Why wasting any time tuning into that guy-all you have to do is scann an post from one of the three bozos on the general discussion forum to get more that enough of that BS.

Then again why even bother with that, either!
