Grass hay is somewhere around $6+ a bale around here these days so I have my pastures mowed and bailed instead of me mowing, saves ware on the tractor, brush hog and me

With record heat this year I'm looking forward to the winter. I have a few outdoor projects that I just can't do in this heat.

As a rule, that's better than my waiting until the first storm forecast or even falling snow.

The summer was such a blur of kids' activities that I really don't remember too much of it.
Hey Swamp, do you do driveways or clear the roads?

We just get some rain lol
Now now, no reason to brag about your rain. If it bothers you, you could always send a little of it southward!

Seriously, this winter will likely be the follow up to the summer of the canoe ( Canoe tale 1, Canoe tale 2 ), with us venturing over to the coast for some paddling. The weather never changes there, 50-60f, and the waters always too cold. And we'll probably try some lower elevation lakes close to home, they'll be low, but plenty large enough for us, and with far less drunken boaters running into things.

Other than that, house type stuff, further settling into our new home. Oh yeah, and enjoying having a fireplace.

Winter? Hell no! Old Man came early last year, hit us hard, and left us a wet tangled mess of fallen evergreens and cedars.
I'd really like a nice fall, till about say Presidents day.

Last winter I forgot to do that and you saw what happened! When I went to start the Jeep , after shoveling a path to it, the battery was dead!

Just some driveways and a small parking lot. I've got a couple buddies who have a large number of accounts and I help them out if we have a big storm or if they have a guy or piece of equipment down.

Dont understand what you are all on about.
Its mid winter here in Australia. COLD WET & MISERABLE . The only positive thing is it looks like the 6 year drought has broken.
We are all waiting by the fire for spring to start so we can thaw out !!

To finish all the inside projects that got pushed back in the spring so I could do the outside projects.

That and a lot of books by the coal fire place..................

I won't be traveling for a while, once the end of November hits. All extra time will be devoted to the modernization of the Enclave/ManCave, including the painting, installation of HVAC, solar water heaters, painting, coating of 2100 sq ft of concrete, installation of air compressor and 3000 cubic feet of storage shelving, not to mention the installation of the full-sized car hoist and engine storage elevator/handler.

All voluntary help accepted, lol.

Plus I have 6 car to prrepare for sale, before I start on nthe ones I'll keep, which may include a new/old 1950 MB 170D that's sitting around.

My friend Les the mason is coming to help, as well as a guy from Louisville, each of whom will stay a week to provide skilled labor.

Cmon....40 degrees isn't THAT cold.
OK, maybe 50 would be better. I wish it was 40 or 50 here. I like that kind of weather.
