Does open up another avenue to fight crabgrass....get cows Free fertilizer too!
That's not entirely unlike clover seed for lawn applications. There doesn't seem to be any common ground between the opposing camps. Some can't believe we'd sell a weed and the others love it because it's green, low growing, pumps Nitrogen back into the soil and attracts bees.

I let most of my lawn go to clover.

I only mow a few times to keep it fairly short.
It does attract bees and looks and smells much better than turf grass.
Oh, the flowers are tasty too

I let a piece of property go back to wild. I hated cutting it as it was a steep hill i the back where nobody sees it.
I now have blackberries, clover, daisies, and other cool things going back there.

It looks better than most other lawns now.

The meadow/naturalized look is coming back into favor. I'm not sure it will ever gain acceptance in suburban/HOA situations, at least for the front yards, but it is a big thing on golf courses and municipal areas now. Which is a good thing IMHO (even though I do sell synthetic fertilizer and pesticides in addition to organic options).

maybe there is some way to use all that wheat gluten that isn't in the bread my wife eats....
